What Is It?

NEXXALENE™ Glass Fiber Reinforced PP Compound adds 15% to 40% glass fiber to the PP base for improved stiffness, tensile, and flexural strength over unfilled PP.

How It's Manufactured

Glass fiber is compounded into PP resin on a twin-screw extruder — PP's naturally easy flow means fiber dispersion is generally more straightforward here than in higher-viscosity engineering resins, which keeps this grade's processing cost advantage intact even after reinforcement.

Manufacturing Process for This Application

Fan blades, automotive light housings, and printer parts are injection molded from the dried, reinforced compound, taking advantage of PP GF's easy flow and smooth processability to fill thin, cantilevered blade geometry cleanly.

Why Polymer Choice Matters Here

Unfilled PP would flex too much at a rotating fan blade's running speed, and while glass-filled ABS is a common alternative for this same part, glass-filled PP delivers comparable stiffness at a meaningfully lower material cost where ABS's surface gloss is not a requirement.
