How It's Manufactured
Flame retardant additives, mineral filler, and glass fiber are compounded together into the PA6 melt on a twin-screw line — three separate additive/reinforcement systems interacting in one compound is what makes this one of the more process-sensitive grades to produce consistently, which is why in-house batch testing before release matters here specifically.
Manufacturing Process for This Application
MCB housings are injection molded from the dried compound, typically in white or grey to meet visual identification standards for electrical distribution equipment. Wall thickness is engineered to hold the GWIT 960°C rating at the thin sections around switching contacts while the reinforced backbone carries the mechanical load of the breaker mechanism.
