Which Compound to Use to Manufacture an Under-Bonnet Bracket

What Is It?

NEXXALON™ Glass Filled Compound, the same automotive-grade grade used for fuel caps and radiator fans, applied here to a structural mounting bracket.

How It's Manufactured

Glass fiber is compounded into heat-stabilized PA6 resin on a twin-screw extruder for consistent mechanical and thermal performance.

Manufacturing Process for This Application

Under-bonnet brackets are injection molded to precise mounting-hole dimensions that have to stay accurate through continuous engine-bay heat cycling and vibration.

Why Polymer Choice Matters Here

A bracket mounted under the bonnet sees some of the highest sustained heat and vibration of any exterior-adjacent automotive location — a compound without both glass reinforcement and inherent heat resistance would loosen its mounting-hole tolerance or crack from vibration fatigue over the vehicle's service life.

Why This Compound Is Suited

"Under-bonnet parts" is explicitly listed among this grade's applications, alongside fuel caps and radiator fans.

Nexxa Compounds is a leading manufacturer of PA6 compounds for under-bonnet bracket applications in India, supplying some of the largest manufacturers across India and internationally.
