What Is It?

NEXXALITE™ Flame Retardant PBT Glass Filled Compound combines 20-30% glass fiber reinforcement with a non-halogenated flame retardant system, rated FR-V0 and GWIT 850/960°C.

How It's Manufactured

Glass fiber and flame retardant additives are compounded together into PBT resin on a twin-screw line, with the process calibrated to hold both the fiber's mechanical contribution and the additive's flammability performance simultaneously — dropping either during compounding defeats the point of this specific grade.

Manufacturing Process for This Application

Plugs, sockets, connectors, switch boxes, and terminal blocks are injection molded from the dried FR/GF compound. These parts carry live current directly through embedded metal contacts, so wall thickness around the contact housing is set to hold the certified FR rating at that exact section.
