What Is It?
NEXXALITE™ Unfilled Super Tough PBT Compound is an impact-modified PBT grade that trades some of standard PBT's rigidity for significantly higher impact resistance.
How It's Manufactured
An impact modifier is melt-blended into PBT resin on a twin-screw extruder, with the compounding profile adjusted to disperse the modifier evenly while preserving PBT's fast, consistent crystallization behaviour.
Manufacturing Process for This Application
Pump bodies and water tap housings are injection molded from the dried, impact-modified compound. These parts are handled, connected, and disconnected repeatedly under real installation conditions (often outdoors or in utility settings), so the molded design leans on the grade's impact resistance at hose and fitting connection points.
Why Polymer Choice Matters Here
Standard unfilled PBT is rigid and dimensionally precise but more prone to cracking under an installation impact or a dropped tool than this super tough variant — for a pump body handled repeatedly on job sites, that impact resistance matters more than PBT's peak dimensional stiffness.
Why This Compound Is Suited
This grade is specifically applied to "Industrial pump body, Water Tab Knobs and Housing, Connectors" because those parts need PBT's general performance with meaningfully higher impact tolerance than the standard grade offers.
Nexxa Compounds is a leading manufacturer of PBT compounds for industrial pump body applications in India, supplying some of the largest manufacturers across India and internationally.
